Did the new compliance guy drop the ball on this one? How do you not make sure a kid is eligible. I know Jones could be entirely at fault but I think its a fair question.

In all likelihood they knew he was a non qualifier and were waiting on an appeal or for jones to complete course work necessary to become eligible. St. John's pulled thier offer last spring it was reportedly because of fear he wouldn't qualify as he still "had work to do." Now that he is a non qualifier he must graduate with an associates degree before he is eligible to compete for any NCAA school. He was a talented forward that would have likely played a lot as a frosh sad he couldn't get eligible.
