I'm surprised by how empty the stands are! I can't imagine there are even 1000 people there

It's not crowded by any means, but there are more people than you'd think. This place is huge.

We had official attendance of 1024 for the Missouri State game (our first home MVC conference game), 1180 for the Indiana State game, and 1382 for our final home game of the year.

There will be 14,000 plus for the final on Sunday. You can watch it on CBS at 1 p.m.

Just said on the broadcast... An 8/9 winner has never won against the #1 in the following round. So more ammo for avoiding that 8/9 seed.

Ten years ago yesterday (March 5, 2004), Illinois State's first year head coach Porter Moser took his Illinois State Redbirds to his first trip to Arch Madness with an overall record of 9-18 and a conference record of 4-14 as the 10th seed in the conference tournament. They were facing Jim Les' Bradley Braves, at 15-15 overall and 7-11 in conference (7th seed). Illinois State upset the Braves 76-56 behind 22 points from guard Trey Guidry.

So it IS possible....
