I have no words. Other than it's horrible. And not acceptable.

Worst loss since...Coppin State? This might be worse given the talent on the team. Absolutely inexcusable from the top down. Coach Drew simply cannot coach in the non-con portion of the season. What the hell does he do all summer with the team? How do they look so woefully unprepared season after season?

There is too much talent on this team. Too much money invested into the program and the roster. Mercyhurst was D2 just a couple seasons ago. They out-hustled, out-rebounded, out efforted our team of 4 star recruits, top transfers, all-A10 players. The Mercyhurst staff coached circles around Drew and his staff.

It is November 6 and our "at-large chances" have essentially plummeted to zero. This loss will be a millstone on our resume all season.

Pathetic.

Every single year Drew has not had the team ready for the start of the season, but this is on another level. Considering the talent disparity -- worst loss in program history?

That was just embarrassing

Why can't this team play defense? I miss the shut down defense we use to play the whole game.

I agree, this will hang over us the rest of the season

I don’t even know where we go from here. 4 games in March is the only thing keeping hope alive.

How does Coach Drew always have us unprepared in the non con? And in year 5, this is the worst loss of them all (worst loss in program history?). Absolutely infuriating. Horrible.

I generally try to find the silver lining, but wow. Not sure you can say much about a team that barely can average a point a minute over the first thirty minutes against a team in the 80th percentile. Maybe this team isn't any good? Or is there a turnaround in the cards. We've played two low-rated teams and looked like we belong in their tier. I really hope it's not going to be one of those years.

Out rebounded and pts in paint again.

It seemed that when we needed a three ball, it just didn't drop. And it seemed like that happened several times in the end of the first half and in the second half.

We start out with some sloppy or loose ball play year after year but then pick things up and we turn out well. Hoping for the best again. But the last game we won at the buzzer and tonight was just downright painful.

Oh it gets worse…. By the numbers, Mercyhurst has a $912,000 basketball program budget that breaks even. They shell out almost zero NIL $$$ to its roster. And according to what little additional info I was able to dig up we paid them $80,000 in guaranteed moneys for this loss.

This is bad, but not the end of the world.

If I’m running a $4.5+ million program with an NIL built and recruited roster getting paid (3-4 million? Maybe more) I’d be rightfully angry to lose like this.

While there is some talent on this team, a few early observations that are pretty concerning:

- we have no traditional post scoring threat. Zero.
- ball movement is below average
- rebounding is not good
- there seem to be some egos in terms of shot taking. That’s the risk with a transfer heavy bunch.

The above is not a promising combination. The first point is probably not fixable. The others are.
