I really want to see a replay of that Miles Rubin alley-oop, because watching it live (on TV), it was one of the more impressive in game dunks I’ve seen.
Our seats are right in the corner by the LU Bench. We had a great view of it. After seeing the replay on TV and clips on X, they don't do justice on just how great a dunk it was. Spectacular!

Seems we could beat anybody or loose to anybody. We need to play well to win. Plus is we have a lot of ways to win offensively and defensively. I love that Houinsou is getting involved in the scoring. I think he has the ability to create mis-matches, just another offensive opportunity.
Tournament will be interesting, Just like last year, lots of teams in the Conference could win the tournament. If SLU does not get the double bye...they have a short bench and might hurt them.
But another 20 game win season. Things seem solid. That poor stretch when guys were injured kinda took the air out of our tires but feel like the car is getting up to speed again.

Thanks. Not gonna lie - I've had a lot of fun writing these and keeping it going. Thankfully I can find a half hour the night before or morning of gameday to put something together.
No complaints on the game other than the officiating crews we have been getting are atrocious. If we cannot play our tight D we will be done next week...... AND we blew a 19-4 lead, and a 19 point lead in second half.
I couldn't help but notice Sister wasn't in the tunnel yesterday and we didn't get a pregame prayer. Any intel? Hope it's nothing of seriousness......

Her absence was definitely noted. Didn't hear anything.

Is there a reason Loyola has such an early spring break? I feel like it would not kill the university from an academic standpoint to push spring break back a week to the second week in March. This would also conveniently coincide with the conference tournament rather than the final week of the season

Ramblers to Wildcats
-FG% 50 to 43
-3% 45 to 40 (Sheldon 7 threes, JD 5 threes)
-Pts off TOs 20 to 11
-Fast Brk pts 17 to 5
-Blocks 5 to 4 (Miles w/4)
-Steals 8 to 7 (Des 4 Steals)
-Assists 20 to 16
This was a fun game to watch.
Agree with comments on Spring Break being at the wrong time and that Miles has to watch the fouls so that he can stay in the game.
Also can’t argue about inconsistency of our Ramblers. Which team will show up? We often can't bury a team when we get a big lead. Krut, Lucas, where are you?
Shout out to Miles for the showmanship with dunking and his better under the basket points play over the last few weeks. And to Sheldon for the Double Double, 22pts and 10RB. Who held the three ball record he broke?
19 pts for Houinsou!
Of smaller note but for D sakes, Francis played 22 minutes, 1 block, 1 steal, and 3 of 4 at the line but ended with a slick plus/minus of +22.
Senior night is certainly special. Sheldon put down his marker with his performance. It is one that will be tough to duplicate. He even had 2 steals! He has become a very good all around player.
Looking ahead on the road, I sure hope our best games are still ahead of us! We're going to need it.

I don't know if its particularly early but a late Easter doesn't allow it to coordinate with spring break

I don't think the refs have changed. I think Miles just has to stop setting illegal screens! The first was 30 seconds into this game. And the second was about a minute after he came back in. Both fouls were obvious - not bad or cheap calls by the refs. I don't think the refs have changed the last few games, but I would say that the refs may be looking for Miles to set the illegal screen (and quinn as well) after passing the ball....because he can't seem to stop doing it.
You could tell by his reactions, and by Drew's reactions.....That they talk about this. And they teach him not to do this. But it just hasn't sunk in yet.
And as others have pointed out - it's a shame because Miles offense has really improved...and our offense flows so well right now when he is on the floor. We were up 21-8 when he went to the bench after the second foul (about 12 minutes to go....12!). And we ended up tied at the half. He has always been critical on the defense end.....and now he is critical on the offensive end. He has got to stay on the floor!

I don't think it's a Easter thing, and unfortunately even with Easter in early April next year, it looks like spring break is again way too early:

Hopefully the university can change this...
