While the BE might like this, for reasons that seems obvious, they will never drop DePewl.

Any post that says the Big East is "going to," "planning for," "thinking of," or "beginning to think about entertaining the concept of" dropping DePaul can be immediately rejected as being disingenuous. When was the last time you heard of a conference kicking out a member with deep pockets and good standing? The Big East is not dropping DePaul, not today, not in the foreseeable future-- not without multiple capital crimes AND ongoing non-payment of funds.

That tweet could not be further than what the Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman recently indicated:

"We have had inquiries from a number of schools, principally other basketball schools, about joining the Big East. Other than UConn a few years ago, there aren't any that checked all the boxes we wanted checked."
