Yikes. Is this the kind of fan base we are? We have not even completed one season and add to that we have 11 new players, are in a MUCH tougher Conference and a relatively new coach who tried to do his own stuff early on. No doubt Coach had a rough patch but seems to have come out of it. I am backing this guy at least until he has had a full shot, which to me is 4 years unless something of a catastrophic nature takes place. Coach Drew put a lot into our good years and I want to give him a fair shake.

This thread seems so wrong.
So every team in the A10 that isn’t playing their best should look for new coaches. Dayton should fire theirs. SLU is tired of theirs and VCU is tired of theirs… on and on!
I’m in for program continuity and player development. Plus I know we will play the portal game as well as anyone. The program has no intention of sinking to mediocrity. If it did we’d have stayed in the Valley. Let’s continue the list…Ohio St tired of their coach, Nwestern was tired of Collins but guess what
He’s got two senior guards loyal to him that are paying off this year, but when they’re gone, let’s see how good the coach is…
How many coaches has DePaul had? Butler?
I like our program, people etc
How about some positive support? It goes a long way.
Oh also Mason was in a final 4 and never been back. Fire the coach?
Go Ramblers! See you Sat.

Drew is a young coach and will have some growing pains. But he has learned from some very good coaches which must have some value. Let's see how his recruiting goes, and how his players and teams develop, and how effective he is leveraging the transfer portal for at least a couple more years before we start the carousel-of-coaches routine.

Rambling On wrote:The poll posting is just another example that many/most fans just have no clue what it takes to operate a D1 program. Pretty easy to spew this crap from your recliner! This poll is fair-weather-fan BS! Valentine is a young head coach playing the hand he was dealt due to extra Covid elgibility claimed last year. Considering he is blending 11 new players into his system, in my opinion it is not fair to judge his performance until season's end. Good Luck Coach and go Ramblers!

Agree, terrible thread.

I find this thread both humorous and sad. We have reached the point of entitlement that this question gets posted.

I am on board for high expectations, but this is silly.

My response is as long as he wants.

OK, everyone, I'm going to lock this thread. I think we've got the full range of views and an indication of which view predominates at this point.

Maybe in a year or two as we look back we'll find this thread amusing (or prescient!! BOM-BOM BOMMMMMMM!!!!).
