Re: Transfer Eligibility
I hate to say it boys but I'm predicting that Anderson will not fit well into Porter's system. Doesn't look like he had great shooting percentage. Scored a lot in HS but was high volume. I really hope that I am wrong. I see a lot of Adarius Avery in this guy
Re: Transfer Eligibility
Weird take considering we haven’t even seen him play with Loyola. Why don’t we give him a chance before we write him off. He’s had plenty of time to work on his shooting.Tony_Throckmorton wrote:I hate to say it boys but I'm predicting that Anderson will not fit well into Porter's system. Adarius Avery...... that is another guy , like Satterwhite and Pipkins..... all super-athletic , who have not worked out at LU. But I also agree we have not seen one second of Anderson, everything is projection and hope.....So I am hoping that Anderson is a good addition.

Re: Transfer Eligibility
Has Porter or anybody given any type of timeframe on when we may expect to see Frank back?

Before the first game they said a couple weeks on radio.ToledoRambler wrote:Has Porter or anybody given any type of timeframe on when we may expect to see Frank back?

I also am holding out hope..dont get me wrong I have been a Loyola fan since I was a student in the 80s. I just cant think of a super athlete that has excelled under Porter. He has a certain type, and the super-athletic non-shooter is not it. Avery, Satterwhite, Pipkins, Tanner Williams, Nick Osborne, there are others. I pray that I'm wrong with this one.natetheskate wrote:Adarius Avery...... that is another guy , like Satterwhite and Pipkins..... all super-athletic , who have not worked out at LU. Some (many?) of those kids also struggled at times on defense, among other things, which is priority #1 for Porter.Tony_Throckmorton wrote:I also am holding out hope..dont get me wrong I have been a Loyola fan since I was a student in the 80s. I also think it’s unfair to assume Anderson will be a “non-shooter” based on limited playing time at Indiana. He put up a lot of 3s in high school, and made them at around a 37% clip. That’s not bad, especially for someone with his size. Ingram wasn’t as reliable from outside his first two years as he was his last two, and Jackson was good enough to be a threat, but didn’t put up a ton of 3s. I would classify both of those two on the same athletic level as the ones you mentioned, only closer in height to Anderson. We’ll have to see.

The only similarity between Satterwhite and Pipkins in regards to Anderson is that they're considered athletic. Satterwhite and Pipkins were both ranked much lower (2-3 stars) for their position while Anderson was a 4 star recruit. On top of that Satterwhite and Pipkins are both 6'2" and 6'3" guards while Anderson is a 6'7" forward at 225lbs. I don't understand why were comparing him to them. With his size and athleticism he should be a good sub for Aher or potentially take his spot if he outperforms him. Some are saying that Anderson is not a good shooter, I haven't seen him play much and haven't dug into his stats but you have to think that he's going to play better in the MVC compared to his time in the Big Ten. Aher can't shoot and he's starting and getting plenty of minutes, so it seems like he could only help the team.

I would consider Townes to be a great athlete.Tony_Throckmorton wrote:I also am holding out hope..dont get me wrong I have been a Loyola fan since I was a student in the 80s. I would definitely doubt on seeing Anderson tomorrow for sure. Most recent tweeted picture by the MBB account shows him on the Gold (practice) squad for walk throughs
