the point of working the clock is not just to work the clock it is to find a high percentage shot....if you just stand around that probably does not work...but if you are making the defense work by cutting, screening, faking,,,moving the ball quickly (which the Final Four did but this years team does not do as well) you find the higher percentage shot...and your defense is better because the other team has been tired out trying to play defense on you.....This besides having players with the skills to do this was the key to the Final Four..........this does not mean that in transition you cant get a quick shot....but that depends on rebounding the ball which depends on being in good defensive position which depends on getting back early on defense to establish your defensive position.....which is why we rarely go after offensive rebounds.
You can always get a shot....it takes work to get a good shot

Steve got the Loyola contingent upgraded to center court behind the Loyola bench. Got to give it up for the guy, hes shaking a lot of hands and kissing a lot of babies in Phoenix today.

Great game guys! Way to finish strong and confidently. Krut was a beast as always, triple double; we are lucky to have him on our team, he is an all time great Rambler and a treat to watch. Another guy that I think should get more kudos is Clemons. The offense looks completely different and more efficient with him out there. He has great vision, good defense, constantly is able to absorb charges, and passes well. He was a great get for the team.

Only negative thing I can say is FREE THROWS; we missed too many and it would not have been as close if we hit half the ones we missed, that has to improve.

Overall a great game, tough defense (3 point defense was markedly better), timely shots, good hustle. Glad to get a W, especially against a power 5 team.

Looking forward to the show down with Davidson, if we play like we did tonight we will be looking at streaking into conference play. Go Ramblers!
