I ended up not being able to go to the game. Seems like James had a good game. Was Rajala not playing at all?

I paid my money--Feed was fine--

We are athletic and fast--more fun than OXEN BALL

If Milton is hurt, what is he going to do when he is cured--Great all around game.
James was a nice surprise --will be a great help to Thomas
Only bad spots were--Poor boarding especially in first half--PM ADJUSTED !! WOW ! PLUS awful freebie shooting--make them we win by tenty-twenty five.

OK for first game--Turk after BAD first 15 minutes got us going in his normal way--THREES

Good outing for our Freshmen but Knuth is a tad slow--you think ???--Crisman is faster this year and bulkier

NOW we must keep it up but with better boaeding and freebie shooting--Defense was pure.

Go Ramblers! Nice to get that first win out of the way! Nice line by James... He must have felt pretty comfortable out there.

I didn't hear anything about the attendance....how bad was it?

Announced 1570. The double header idea is cool for opening night but it always seems to conflict with President's Ball

The student turnout was actually pretty good in terms of numbers, but they were pretty quiet except for when they were trying to earn ice cream by shouting L-U.

As for the game, I thought the newcomers were impressive. Obviously James scored a bunch, but Earl Peterson had a good game as well. Knuth put himself in good spots, but missed a couple of easy shots. I'll chalk it up to nerves unless it happens again. Somehow Richardson got two blocks?? Ingram missed a couple of easy shots too, but I love his quickness and athleticism. I'm surprised he only had one rebound.

Free throw shooting was terrible. We could have easily won by 20+. (Kudos to Richardson for going 4-4. Without him we only shot 56%.)

James and CT both had really efficient games. James had 19 points on 18 shots, and CT had 14 points on 12 shots. They should be a good tandem down low so long as we can get better at team rebounding.

What can you say about Doyle? He really filled up the stat line. 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block. Made everything happen on both ends of the court. I'll take that game from him every time. Hopefully we can keep him around 30 minutes a game, too.

Milt's game has the possibility to get even better in what I consider a big time way. When he becomes more aggressive off the dribble it will open up a whole new world for him. When this happens the real benefits will come to his teammates. Doyle is so unselfish and has great court vision when teams try to stop him from getting into scoring positions everyone else will be open and he can deliver the ball to them. Then what do opposing teams do to defend.
Rebounding and interior defense are still the main concerns. When we get a 270b 6'9 aggressive kid that will be the key piece.

Montel and CT are going to be playing some heavy minutes this year. Hope they are well conditioned and hold up alright.

If only Marlon qualified. A starting lineup of Keke-Crisman-Doyle-CT-Marlon with a bench of Montel, Peterson, Turk, Ingram, Richardson and Knuth is a team that would have possibly been able to avoid a Thursday game.

The season has started--barely-- It looks to me at this early date that we are NOT as weak as some of us are painting--Maybe not terrific, but I am betting AGAINST a last place finish. The main reason appears to be that we finally have more than one gun--Our lack of height will be a huge problem--Our speed and shooting will compensate some for this . It all depends on match ups -- AND steady Defense
--Milton appears to have some real help this year--He WILL distribute--this will open a ton of avenues with guns to finish off for a change. BTW our speed will create openings down low--Book it.

Being as realistic as I can be--our lack of height hurts--The rest is pretty darn good---KiKis return will even add-- big time.

Its a long season but a nice start--- Oh , by the way, it took most of a half to solve a zone--BUT we did it---Milton and the newbies plus ol' reliable Thomas kept bangin' til TURK erupted for the clincher.

New season--High hopes--not hurt at all by a steady opening winner.

Monday will help tell our story

GO RAMBLERS !!!

I agree! We played a D2 team, sure, but I think it went as well as we could have hoped. Milton looked like his normal self, the freshman looked solid, Earl and Montel looked great, and Porter and the team were able to adjust in the second half. We got out rebounded by a team that wasn't too much taller than us, so that's concerning. Also, I loved the random bursts of full court pressure; we don't have size so we have to take advantage of our quickness.

During the game, we saw Doyle, Richardson, and Earl Peterson all play point guard. When White comes back, think we just see Peterson take over the backup role, or do you anticipate seeing more of Doyle taking the ball up?

looking at rockhurst, they are built to rebound. They start three forwards, one center and one guard. They also outrebounded UKMC in the first game. With a larger roster, they can and so carry a lot of forwards.
