Shockers avoid an upset at ISUblue.

ISUblue had plenty of opportunities down the stretch and couldn't seem to make a basket (plus they missed some key free throws).

WSU circled the wagons and stopped shooting with about 3 minutes to go and almost paid dearly. But they put on such a great defense, it didn't matter. And rebounding.

This was a fun game to watch. Great battle. In the end, ISU just didn't have enough.

It was nice to see that we aren't the only team that misses free throws down the stretch.

Nice crowd for ISUb-- the place was rocking, and the Trees kept the crowd in the game. It looked to me like fatigue was a factor after the Sycamores made their push midway through the second half to come back and cut the margin to two. Some of those late free throws for blue were clankers that made you wince watching them.

We have a way of wearing opponents down.

It was a fun game to watch even though we were out hustled and that just doesn't sit well with many of us. The team will be paying for that as well as poor FT shooting. You gotta give the Trees a lot of credit for never backing down as they seemed to answer almost every big shot we'd hit. I kept thinking that this was the shot that would break them and then they'd come right back down and hit one. Couldn't quite pull away for good. Crowd was great as well. More than I expected but less than ISU was hoping for. At least many of their fans.

Didn't hurt to have two of the best in the business donig the game in Mitch Holtus and Mark Adams. Love each of them and together they're a lot of fun.
