I was worried about his health this year but he is looking good.
Of our 10 2018-19 scholarship players, one has both the most boards per minute & the fewest turnovers. His name is Chris Negron.
His 5 boards, in 12 minutes today against a Big 10 team, puts him at 13.8/40 minutes (average 5.0 fouls/40). Agunanne has 12.7rebounds/40 (average 12.0 fouls per 40). Krutwig has 10.5 rebounds/40 (average 2.9 fouls per 40).
Negron had his first turnover of the season tonight putting him at 0.6 turnovers/40. No one on the team is close to his low turnover rate.
I was glad to see him get 12 minutes tonight alternating between center & power forward. He has been quietly doing his job.
I am glad Uguak & our 2 freshmen guards are getting playing time before the MVC schedule starts. Hopefully Negron will also get playing time to develop. I wish the best to Agunanne in cutting his fouls down. There is potential there, the question is how long it will take Frank to develop. Our 4 returning starters have been nothing short of spectacular this year (& hopefully, Williamson, the 4th, is on the road to good health).
