Great pick up. Looks super athletic...we don't have too many guys that can get above the rim and dunk with authority.

I'm thinking more Krutwig in the sense he'll be a super consistent scorer in the paint that will help our shooters get open, from what I've seen in the highlights Alston is a beast in the paint on both endsDansen wrote:Feel like he ends up fitting the Aher role. Huge get for Drew out of the portal

Great pick up in Phil Alston. His mix tape looked great, very athletic and he plays with a major edge. He looks to play with a hard nosed attitude, really looking forward to him throwing down in maroon and gold. We haven’t had anyone with that killer instinct who wants to punish guys down low in awhile, and he looks to have it. Would expect him to slide into Uguak’s role, hopefully his defensive can match his offense, great pick up for A10 play.
First domino, looking forward to the next few weeks to see who else commits. Crossing the fingers for Bobi and Edwards.

Martinelli doesn’t project to A-10 top tier. Mid to lower level Valley type. Great HS player though.

At some point, you look at a local 6'7 local kid who can hit 3's, drive to the bucket and get mid-range buckets, and you make room for him. I predict he'll go to a Valpo or ISU type program, play really well and transfer up to a P6. Bucket-getters at his size don't come along everyday.Rambling0101 wrote:Martinelli doesn’t project to A-10 top tier. Mid to lower level Valley type. Great HS player though.
But I think you're right in that you only have so many roster spots.

A little old, but thought this tweet did a nice job summarizing the key guys we've been linked to/mutual interest in transfer portal:
Re: Recruiting Class of 2022
Let him develop at Valpo or ISU for 1-2 years then take him as a transfer. We're a big boy program now, and that's what big boy programs do with fringe prospects with the way transfers work now. It also works out better for the player. The MVC is our farm system nowgoramblers2011 wrote:At some point, you look at a local 6'7 local kid who can hit 3's, drive to the bucket and get mid-range buckets, and you make room for him. We will be seeing Neal Quinn next year...playing for Richmond. That sucks. Really wanted him
