Don't know much about this kid, but based on what I've read about him in the last half hour it sounds like he could be an underrated get for Moser.

One interesting fact is that Pernell played AAU ball with the number 1 ranked player in the nation for 2016, Thon Maker, a 7 foot center.

Sounds like a guy who might be able to step in and help fill the Christian Thomas role after he graduates this year.

I think if he is a good rebounder I think it could be a good get for us. Do not know much about him but hopefully this could be a steal on a player that went underrecruited.

Another interesting fact is that he was the Virginia Catholic Schools State Champion in both the 100 meter dash and high jump in 2013.

He looks very strong and is obviously fast for his size. I hope his basketball skills are at least somewhat commensurate with his athleticism. I couldn't tell much from his 90 second mixtape, except that he sure can dunk, and has pretty good form on his jump shot. I don't remember seeing him take a single dribble or throw a single pass.

His list of college suitors is not very impressive, however, and it doesn't appear that any of the high major coaches (e.g. Coach K., Crean, Pitino) who saw him play AAU ball while recruiting his teammate Thon Maker were sufficiently impressed to consider him a prospect.

Time will tell, I guess.
