No coaching experience and the youngest head coach in CBB at the time he was initially hired. I agree though, I don’t think firing mid-season is the right call.

Very unlikely he's fired during the season. I think he's completely toast after that though.

This is probably right, and we've seen him right the ship before (last season, for example). But at some point, it doesn't even matter. When November goes so badly, there's nothing left to play for.

Yeah and when it goes this badly, the fanbase gets completely demoralized and checks out. I feel like attendance has been decent considering how bad the team has been, but yesterday looked bleak and probably will continue drop off. Even if there is another turnaround (and that sure seems like a big if at this point), damage is already done from an attendance/enthusiasm standpoint.

That's why I'm sure Drew is a goner -- there's a lot of resources going to into the program, and if they want to keep it that way, they're gonna have to make a change.

Chicago State may hire me as a good luck charm as I was also at the Northwestern game when they beat the Cats
Some thoughts and observations.
1. We lost 4 two way guards from last year. Watson,Quinn, Dawson and Edwards. They generated a lot of easy points from their defense as well as 3 of them were able to get to the hoop. The guards this year are average at best at defending and do not seem to be finishers at the basket. They added a physical dimension that is lacking this year.
2. Drew is in love with lanky, skinny guys. They all have a terrible time guarding smaller guards. It makes the aggressive defense he like to play pretty ineffective.
3. We do not have a physical presence. Despite out rebounding CSU we were not able to convert as we got pushed around under the hoop with or with out the ball. CSU though smaller had 4 blocks to our two. I thought it was interesting that Richardson, the only one with a little beef, got 8 rebounds in 7 minutes.
4. Miles Rubin as much as he has worked to get better and is a good rim protector struggles defensively in our aggressive system and as much as Drew likes to run the high pick and roll Miles is not efficient at it.
My conclusion is that although we may have some good athletes and players they are not equipped to run the offense and defense Drew wants to run and this is where is lack of experience comes into play.
My hope is that we dont become one of those , FIRE THE COACH, fan bases. My impression is that the kids are playing hard, not well, but hard and this is as hard on them as it is on us. With out some changes that makes better use of what these kids can do it is going to be a long year. I actually thought we got lots of good looks yesterday but made nothing. It seems our only hope is to change defense and start shooting better from 3 as there are not many points to come from inside or the middle game.
A little news I heard is that Amos will be eligible for an additional year.

Tommy Lloyd of Arizona wants to have a word with you  20 years assistant at Gonzaga before he got the call to take Arizona.

They are out there......

I did not say it "never works." Tommy Lloyd is an exception. Plus he was an assistant in a successful program for 20 years.
How many years was Drew an assisstant in a successful program?
I hope that Drew turns things around and ends up having a long and winning career at LU.

20 years of experience vs Drew’s 6yrs. They’re not the same. Drew was the youngest HC in the NCAA at the time. That stat alone was a red flag.
