Only a few years ago, this was a big deal for Loyola fans. Remember? This year they're already into the top 100 before anyone here has posted anything.

https://www.collegesportsmadness.com/me ... 4-previews

Interesting stuff so far:

They have A-10 conference members Umass (137), URI (133), and George Mason (115) in their Top 144.

Indiana State is #125 (??!?!)-- are they putting ISUb high up in the MVC, higher than Umass and URI in the A10? Drake is probably the front runner in the MVC, but who is between Drake and ISUb? Not ISUr, not UE, not Valpo, not UNI, not UIC, probably not Missouri State after losing Mosley and Prim... Murray lost a lot from what I've heard and T-Rank has them at 196. Looks like Drake (around 60), SIU (around 90) and Bradley (around 100).

I like the Missouri Valley Conference, and I think they did well to add the teams they did over the past year. But this is going to be a tough one for the conference. Even if we were still there, we'd only be around where Drake is. The other teams that have been Top 100 the past few years-- Missouri State, UNI-- are down in the 180s or worse. Belmont and Murray will be down, even by the standards of moving up in conference. UIC will be a drag for several years.

Wichita State (106), Boise State (104), DePaul (102) and Northwestern (101) are just below the top 100-- we have a chance to play Boise State in Myrtle Beach and have DePaul at home.

Really looking forward to more specific conference schedule news so I can make road trip plans....

ISU blue is picked as #4 in Valley.
George Mason is picked as #7

A-10 has 9 teams in top 144, Valley has 4.

Northwestern and Depaul made the Top 144 list just outside the top 100 at #101 and #102.

Guess we're expected to be the best Chicago area program for the 5th? season in a row.

UMASS apparently just signed a new recruit who was rated as a top 100 recruit for 2023, had previously committed to Depaul, and was recruited by numerous P6 schools including Illinois. He is also apparently reclassifying to 2022 and will be on the team this season. I’m guessing UMASS would be ranked higher here if this would’ve been known a month or two ago.

The A10 is going to be tough this year.

Drake comes in at #66. Predicted to be the #1 team in the MVC and a 12 seed in the tournament.

There are still 4 teams left from the A10, including us. My guess is they have us as the #4 A10 team, and a bubble team for an at-large bid. For a mid-major team in a new conference and replacing 6 seniors, that’s pretty decent in terms of reputation and expectations. I will forever be an MVC fan, rooting hard for the Salukis again,…but this is also a stark reminder of the difference in national reputation between the A10 and MVC.

As expected, Loyola come in as the #4 team in the A10. #55 overall with an expectation of making the NIT.

If that's what happens (4th in the league, NIT), in our first year in a new conference, with 8 or 9 newcomers, I think that's a pretty good start to life in the A10.
