National Champs! Feels weird and great to say.

I was at a Restaurant/bar in Champaign. I had the bartender change the TV in front of me to the game. By coincidence it was the TV that controlled about 90% of the TV's in the place (about 10-15 or so). I refused to let her change the channel, so the entire place witnessed the entire game (with a few cheers).

I was at the game. Absolutely amazing. Great crowd that was into it from the start. Feels great to say National Champs!

I hope the basketball team was watching closely. They could learn a think or two from the Champs!

Congrats to our Volley Ball Guys !! Terrific !! This win goes nicely with the Miler O'Hara back in the day, and of course our Hoops Nat'l Champs in 1963. As with those past winners , it was HARD HARD work BUT worth it in many ways--I wager this will even help with Hoops recruiting both Guys and Gals--Bragging rights and all when our recruiters talk to prospects.

We all know Loyola Chicago has a fine scholastic reputation--and we are on the move upward athletically-- I love it.

BTW , I know our Coach played for us--but who was it that hired him to lead the guys ??

Great night for Loyola! Hope the celebration last long into the night.

Question: Is there another coach poll next week? Would be interesting to see how the Irvine and BYU coaches vote.

There's a final poll on Monday that is released at 2 p.m. Central.

Bruno's was crazy, with a line out the front door to get in. Doug Bruno was there, and I passed Porter Moser on the way out and said hello. Big Joe, Luke, former Loyola volleyball player Justin Schnor, and a lot of other longtime Rambler fans were there. Spontaneous cheers burst out a few times. Loud, crazy, and happy.

Wanted to drop by and congratulate you on the championship. I don't care what sport it is, it's always a big deal to be the top dog.

What a feeling. The Final victory has been a culmination of 16 seasons of effort by Shane Davis along with the entire coaching staff, support staff, facilities staff, students, school brass (great seeing Father G attend several games that I went to this year), and anyone else that I forgot. LU Wolf! When I first heard that Gentile would be gutted and redone, I briefly thought to myself, "I wonder if the renovated arena would ever be able to host the Men's Volleyball Championship one day and if Loyola would even bid for it?" I also thought that I was possilbly out of my mind. The program had been through that point in time on a second tier level. They had never been won the conference title nor had they been to the national tournament. And if the new Gentile still looks like a glorified high school gym, then there is no chance. So this must have been several years ago around the turn of the decade.

Fast forward a few years and to make a long story short, hell yes.
