Loyola drops to #2 in the AVCA rankings thanks to four West Coast coaches ranking Loyola third or worse. Loyola had 11 first place votes to BYU's 6. Loyola coach Shane Davis didn't vote in this week's poll, but even if he had Loyola first and BYU third, BYU would still be #1 on points.
The funniest one was UC Irvine's coach, who ranked Loyola fifth and his own team third, despite his team being a sixth seed in the conference tournament and getting knocked out in the first round. Oh, and the fact that Loyola beat his team head-to-head.
