The men's soccer rankings for October 10/11 are out, and Loyola is ranked #13 by NSCAA and #8 by TopDrawerSoccer.com. On the RPI, Loyola dropped out of the top 10 after their loss at Creighton, but has rallied back to #5 after the road shutout win at DePaul and the 4-0 drubbing of Drake last week.

Of the 200+ NCAA Division I men's soccer teams, only Loyola and Denver have double-digit wins on the season so far, Denver earning theirs on Friday night and Loyola getting their 10th with the Saturday night Drake win. The previous school record for wins in a season is 13 in 1984. Obviously, the Ramblers have never received an at-large bid to the 48 team NCAA men's soccer tournament, so maintaining an RPI in the top 20 would be key to getting a good NCAA tournament seeding and safegaurd a spot in case there's a flub in the MVC tournament.

Sophomore forward Alec Lasinski was named the MVC's offensive player of the week. (By the way, the women's team has caught fire, too, and remains the only unbeaten in conference play... so men's and women's soccer leads the MVC right now).

Six games remain on the schedule, four in conference, half on the road and half at home. There is a new format for the league tournament-- all teams are now eligible, and the top two seeds get byes to skip the quarterfinals.
