Loyola vs. Central Arkansas 7 p.m., Conway, Ark. Preview: http://www.loyolaramblers.com/sports/m- ... 16aaa.html It's back to MVC conference play with tonight's 7 p.m. men's soccer game at Central Arkansas. UCA is 2-4-1, and 0-1 in conference. They haven't had a win since going 2-0 in their first two games of the season against Green Bay and Central Baptist. It's never easy to win on the road, but the Ramblers really need one tonight in Conway, Ark. to gain a potentially commanding 3-0 conference record. A draw against a lower conference team like UCA probably won't help very much-- the Ramblers need the W to stay on top in the conference and gain back momentum after their first loss of the year. The 3-0 drubbing at Creighton was hopefully a learning opportunity for Loyola, as they saw the kind of fan support, precision, and confidence that a program with 23 NCAA tournament appearances in the past 24 years plays with. Loyola's 500+ minute streak holding their opponents scoreless was gone in the first 10 minutes of that game. But there's no time to fret with 3 games and 2 key conference matchups from now through next Saturday. |
