It appears that all of our Fall Sports have shaved back their travel considerably this fall. Golf, Cross-Country and soccer are almost exclusively in the Midwest. An exception is the women's soccer team to ASU but that was probably a commitment based on them playing here last year. Womens volleyball does make it to North Carolina for a tournament. We have also lost coaches and hired very young coaches to replace them. It seems that somewhere, somehow there has been a draw the line on money spent. We also have made the easiest choices in hiring coaches. Track and Field hired the guy who was behind which was interesting as he is field event guy and we have always emphasized the middle distances and he does not match the level of the previous coach. The same can be said for golf. Not sure what it all means but ...just saying. |

University cut budgets across the board. 6% is what I heard. For athletics this means raise some moolah or deal with smaller budget |
