The preseason MVC polls are out, and Loyola fall sports are picked at their highest levels since the Ramblers joined the MVC.

Women's Soccer - Loyola was picked second, with one first place vote. Last year the Ramblers were denied their first ever NCAA Tournament bid after falling short on penalty kicks in the MVC Women's Soccer Tournament final. Drake was picked to finish first, and Evansville was picked to finish third. In a bit of scheduling luck, the Ramblers play both Drake and Evansville at Loyola Soccer Park this year. The 2016 Conference Tournament will be played November 4 and 6, 2016 in Normal, hosted by Illinois State.

Women's Volleyball - The Ramblers are picked to finish 6th in this year's MVC Volleyball standings. After being picked for 7th last season, Loyola reached their first MVC Volleyball Tournament with a 6 seed (only the top 6 teams are eligible for the tournament), and LU won 20 or more games for the first time since the early 2000s. This year's preseason poll results matches last year's finish exactly, with the exception that last place Bradley and ninth seed Evansville are reversed. Hopefully the Ramblers can outperform their prediction again this year for a better tournament match. The conference tournament will be November 24-26, 2016 at UNI.

Men's Soccer - Defending champion SIUE was picked to take the MVC in this year's preseason poll, ahead of Drake and the Ramblers. This year the MVC is playing an eight game league schedule rather than only six. With the off-balanced scheduling Loyola and Bradley have the toughest schedules in the league this season, playing the teams picked to finish first and second twice. That may account for the Ramblers being picked out of the top two spots, despite a lot of talent and experience. In the exhibition season the Ramblers knocked off #15 Indiana on the road, 2-0. The conference tournament is scheduled for Nov. 8, 9, 11 and 13, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri.

Cross Country - New head coach Bob Thurnhoffer inherits Men's and Women's Cross Country teams predicted to finish 4th and 5th respectively. Bradley was picked to win in men's cross country and Wichita State was picked to finish first on the women's side. The men finished 6th in last year's championship, and the women finished 4th.
