She won election to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player, joining Allen Iverson, Yao Ming, Shaquille O'Neal, Tom Izzo, and Jerry Reinsdorf as inductees in the Class of 2016. She joins Loyola coach Lenny Sachs (inducted postumously in 1961) as the second Loyola inductee.
