I heard a little bit about Arrupe.

It's going to be a junior college for the disadvantaged. I don't know if there's going to be a separate campus or not.

If I might be cynical, I think it's mostly an attempt to market Loyola to Mexican-Americans, which demographically makes a lot of sense.

I sincerely doubt that WSU is really that interested.

Yup, Sub was wrong on this one: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the ... 17633.html

I agree Smart going to WSU is unlikely. Butler would be a possibility. My guess is that Smart will choose the highest-profile program that offers.

I was wrong but I still don't get it. He's small and doesn't play D. He's not a PG and can't really create for others. He's not a very good catch and shoot guy. Essentially, he has to have the ball in his hands to try and create for himself. That worked in HS when he played on a team that had very little talent and revolved around him. I don't see his game translating to him having much success at WSU. And from what I understand he'll have to earn a scholarship so I expect him to be a walk-on. His dad is going to be pretty pissed I think when Connor isn't made to be a big part of the team. He is not near as good as a Ron Baker and never will be. He will never be close to a Fred VanVleet if he were to run the point. Or try to run the point.

We already have an undersized SG in Ria'n Holland. He and Frankamp are about the same size, but Ria'n plays very good D and is a good catch and shoot guy. Plus, he's much faster and quicker than Frankamp. I still think he'd have been smart to go to Creighton where he could just launch threes all day long and not have to worry about playing much D as that's not a big focus in Omaha.

There are a lot of Shocker fans who are not sold on this move and feel it's a mistake.

I disagree with ALMOST all of this paragraph. He does play D, he can play some point, he can catch and shoot. What I agree with: he is small and will not be as good as All-Americans Baker and VanVleet.

D is why Self didn't play him much. He can't create and isn't a point. Catch and shoot is a weakness. He needs the ball in his hands to score for himself. If he plays significant minutes, either he improves a ton or we're a lot weaker than we expect to be.

Saw Frankamp was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being pulled over and blowing a .18. Marshall doesn't strike me as a guy with a lot of patience for a dumb mistake like this.

Marshall has never had an incident like this while at Wichita. Most of us fans aren't too pleased and the kid should know better. Especially with so many skeptics and/or detractors in the fan base. I'm sure he'll get a second chance, but he's going to have to earn it and I'm sure it won't be an enjoyable experience.

I'd be all for removal from the team, but that's me. I have a very low tolerance for those who drink and drive.
