Just so everyone knows, watching live Loyola sports on video now comes with a charge: $9.95 a month or $99.95 a year. I think it's perfectly reasonable (even desirable) to charge for live video broadcasts of Loyola sports, but starting off at $100 a year caused me a little bit of sticker shock. I might start doing the monthly thing as fall sports enters conference play. If it started at $49 a year or less, I'd get a one year subscription immediately.

if I remember correctly WSU is 79.95 a year. I would love to know what their subscriber numbers are.

I'd love to see how many people subscribe for that.

parents, relatives and friends will. however if you couple it with a certain donation amount you could increase your donor numbers and possibly keep them giving after graduation. (I'm thinking PBS drives). Then again what do I know (LOL)

Right now we need bodies and eyeballs more than financial targets. $100 a year is a price point that's too high. I have no problem with an introductory rate of $39-49-- I would like that. But ultra-high tickets and other expenses are making it tough. I'm actually thinking about puttting a PayPal donation button on Ramblermania, because my expenses, subscriptions, travel costs, game tickets, equipment, and subcontracting is several hundreds more per year than my revenue. Covering the men's volleyball championship alone cost me about the entire yearly revenue from ads on Ramblermania. And that's with me donating my time writing and being an administrator.

I think the majority of Shocker fans that use ShockerVision do it monthly. At least the ones that live within the state and get most of the basketball games on TV. Those who live out of state are more likely to pay the yearly subscription if they're interested in more than just basketball. Those who enjoy volleyball and baseball will pay the full amount. However, with a number of our games now being available on ESPN3 I could see the out of staters going to the monthly subscription based upon their needs. Unless it's still cheaper for volleyball and baseball.

Personally, I haven't used ShockerVision in years but with me cancelling my TV services last spring it may become a viable option. But it would only be on a monthly basis.

Season ticket holders should absolutely get the subscription free.
