This could be fantastic. There were some great teams in this last year and could be a great way to play some higher level competition.

Some teams that were in last year:

Grand Canyon
Stanford
SMU
Cal Baptist
Fresno State
Washington State
TCU
Santa Clara
Washington
Colorado State
USC
St. Mary's
New Mexico
ASU

So far, for next year's series, they've announced us, Nevada, San Diego and Cal Baptist. Nevada is a good opponent. Let's hope we get some power conference teams in the mix.

Some more teams announced: Ole Miss (Sweet 16 team this year), Iowa (poached Drake's coach & team), Washington, Minnesota (hired Colorado State's coach), Stanford, Utah, Colorado, Northern Iowa, Tulsa, Santa Clara, San Francisco.

Overall, looking like a solid field, but for us, it'll depend on who we get to play. Getting a shot at Ole Miss would be best.

Not bad. Am I wrong, I thought I heard we had already scheduled San Fran again next year?

OK field but unfortunately Washington, Utah, Colorado, MN, Nevada, Tulsa will be coming into next season off of down years, bad seasons. It becomes very more important that we beat them.

The pairings came out, and we got totally shafted. Northern Iowa and either San Jose St. or Tulsa (again). No P6 schools. Early games on Tuesday and Wednesday in Palm Springs before Thanksgiving. I wonder what the deal was to sign up for this. Some of these tournaments are starting to pay out NIL money. If that's the case here, then I guess it's worth it because this definitely isn't worth it for the scheduling aspect.

Ugh knew this was a possibilty, but this is terrible -- and former conference foe Northern Iowa featuring two former Ramblers, at least one of whom hates Drew's guts, is gonna come out super motivated. All downside.

IIRC they have two games they can still schedule, they really need a noncon Q1 game. And oh yeah, the team needs to not look completely lost for the first two months of the season.

Puke. I really like Ben Jacobsen as a coach, and no ill will to former Blers, but a bit of a lose/lose here.

Just not another Hawaii trip please
