Our non-conference schedule is definitely concerning. We knew we had a strong roster this year, so I don't understand why we didn't schedule a single power conference team (or even any top mid-major teams). I know it's hard, but other A-10 and Mountain West teams seem to have no problem scheduling at least a few big conference teams each year. We will have to completely dominate this schedule to have any chance at an at-large bid.
It takes two to schedule. We do have a few top mid-majors. Princeton has fallen off but was the runaway Ivy favorite. SF is a tournament contender. The MTE will hopefully give us some more. The schedule is softer this year, but we unfortunately can’t expect to play big brand schools every year. That’s just mid-major basketball. Keep winning and it wont matter.
