Thought we might want to keep up on guys who have left
Ty Johnson at UC Davis scored 35 against Washington...took 25 shots!
Ben Schwieger now at Northern Iowa got 22 minutes and 12 points...Team mate Jacob Hutson had a quiet night with 16 minutes and 4 points.
Trey Lewis now with Purdue Fort Wayne in the Horizon league got 20 minutes and 8pts against BLuffton? who by the way played 18 players!

After putting up massive numbers at N. Colorado, Saint Thomas is now a starter for new Big Ten school USC. He played 25 minutes in their opening game win vs Chattanooga, shot 4-10 from the field (1-4 from 3) for 9 points, grabbed 9 boards and had 4 assists. Seems like he will be a focal point of their squad.

Wichita St knocked off UNI 79-73. Hutson (22 points, 3-6 from 3) and Schwieger (12 points, 2-3 from 3) led the scoring for the Panthers. Schwieger is still coming off the bench but wouldn't be surprised to see him earn a starting spot. Seems to be playing well for them.

Following his 35 point performance against Idaho, TY Johnson put up 30 vs Idaho (w/ 7 rebounds and 4 steals) and 22 vs some D2/3 school. He seems like he will be a mid-major start putting up big numbers all year. He's a senior, played in 13 games in his freshman year, so I THINK this is his last year of eligibility. Surprised he stayed put at UC-Davis as I am sure some high majors sniffed around after he had a good year last year. Good for him.

Saint Thomas continues to start for USC. He played all 40 minutes (!) in USC's narrow 75-69 win over Idaho St., putting up 10 points, 7 boards, 9 assists. In USC's even narrower 98-95 win over UT-Arlington, Saint played 37 minutes, scoring 8 points (2-8 shooting), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. He seems to be filling the stat sheet. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a triple double this year. USC looks like they'll be pretty rough though, struggling vs some low major squads.

Trey Lewis is getting decent minutes off the bench for IPFW. In a loss to UCF, he played 13 minutes, scoring 7. In a win over Bethune-Cookman, he played 11 minutes, scoring 5. Not doing much else in terms of stats.

Former Rambler Baylor Hebb is finishing his career out at University of Texas-El Paso. It looks like he's coming off the bench and averaging about 4 points per game.

Well, guess who is leading the NATION in scoring right now?
That would be Ty Johnson- 28.3 pts per game.
Enough said.

Think there’s a bit more to be said. He’s averaging 20 shots and 10 FT attempts a game. No one else on the team is averaging half of either of those numbers. He is the entire offense in what probably isn’t a very good team. Happy for TY and wishing him all the success, but he’s not getting that type of volume at Loyola. No one does. It’s now how Loyola plays basketball.

For comparison Dawson leads Loyola at about 12 shots per game, follows by Sheldon at 8.5 and Des at 6.5. Dawson took 17 shot and Des took 14 vs Chicago State. No other shot total for a player in our 4 games this season has surpassed 12 shots.

The Loyola B squad at UNI got another win with Hutty who had 9,,Schwieger had 13 and Miles Rubins' brother who originally committed to LU had 4 . Does anyone remember the baseline slam that Schweiger had at UIC his freshman year...that and Phil ALstons battle at the end of the UMASS game last year....most memorable plays since 18.....
