Starting in 2025-2026 some sports will be allowed, but not required, to distribute scholarships to their entire rosters. Basketball (men’s and women’s) will now have 15 available scholarships.

Will be interesting to see how this impacts the broader recruiting landscape. More scholarships for high majors to offer transfers, but maybe you see a resurgence of redshirting freshman or “project” type recruits. Is this the death knell for the fan favorite walk-ons?
