I wouldn't be surprised if it stays in Pitt for a while.

Pittsburgh is a great city.

In 1989, I spent most of the summer in the Wrigley bleachers and became friends with the guys that did the "Shawon-O-Meter." At one point that year, they took the Shawon-O-Meter on a road trip... I think it was Cincy. So I asked them if I could take it to Pittsburgh for a September trip. They said no, but gave me "permission" to make a facsimile, and having sat next to them for 20-25 games that year, I got a good look at the sign and the process.

So, first night in Pittsburgh, Dunston hits a grand slam, and I get TV time. Next day, Chuck Goudie from WLS-TV does a brief story on the sign in Pittsburgh.

That was my first time spending several days in Pittsburgh. I thought it was a great town. I've been back several times-- in 2000, 2008, 2022 (our NCAA game there), and I'm looking forward to 2025. The people were surprisingly great, the restaurants are fantastic, it's accessible by train, car, or plane in 7 hours or less.

The architecture and city design is really interesting. Daniel Burnham did their train station (he also did Chicago and DC). The feel of the city can be kind of gothic and creepy, because it was laid out and built in the era of Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe. It's on an isthmus of hills, with turning and slanted streets separating pocketed neighborhoods. But despite the severity of the architecture, design, materials, and terrain, it's a very fun city because of the people.

The only downside to an A-10 Tournament in Pittsburgh is having Dayton fans being 55% of the crowd.

That is the main reason that the tournament will be in Pittsburgh - Dayton will bring fans. Duquesne being in the city is an afterthought as they do not have a history of being a big draw.

It looks like the league is going the tournament rotation route. Pittsburgh hosted back in 2017. Since then, Brooklyn and Washington DC have had the event. DC is the host for 2025.
