That was a solid performance tonight. You can see how important it is to hold serve at home. VCU lost at St. Bona', Bonnies are a scary good team when they want to be, and that puts The Loyola University in 3rd place. Now, let's take care of business Sunday. Davidson has a poor record but has been competitive in their games. They beat Maryland. So, it is no easy out.

Hope Dawson is OK.

Drew said postgame he's hoping to have him back fairly quick. Sounded like a sprained ankle.

Not that I'm on the TV broadcast for Men's Games, but...there is no microphone to move...lol

They need to do something that was brutal, I had to turn the sound off. Aside from that the first half turned ugly but was glad to see the team turn it around. This was exactly the kind of win we needed at home against a bad SLU team. Tom played great in his limited minutes, Norris and Dez were hot from three. We had too many careless turnovers but made up for it with the three point plays. It’s about time we have a team that has improved their FT % across the board.

There really isn’t anything to do except making the loudest students move or asking them nicely to be quiet….and I don’t think that will happen.

A10 rules state the students can’t be behind the benches and with no section behind the baskets, the students have to sit where they sit. Broadcasters can’t move either.

We’ll see how it is on Sunday. Luckily for radio we are a few seats down, but it still gets quite loud.

FYI, the production crew is aware of the issue, but again…not much they can do unless someone with the authority makes the certain people move or explains the situation.

Crazy game which started out bad, but ended up good! The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:

1. The Ugly: The officiating tonight was rough. First half LU was getting nothing, until Drew’s T (more on that later). Second half SLU was getting the 1st half LU treatment. Seemed like they couldn’t figure out if they were gonna let the teams or not, It was rough. We had another 16 TOs tonight. Many were flat out silly and because we were rushing. Against a better team could have been a big problem.

2. The Bad: With the inconsistent officiating, we need to be smarter and we have to avoid the “silly” fouls. Bad trouble with our bigs most of the night. Jayden out was bad. Didn’t hear about it before the game, but looks like he is day to day. We don’t play until Sunday, so he gets some to rehab. Hopefully nothing long term.

3. The Good: There was plenty of Good. Drew coached his a$$ off tonight. He juggled the foul trouble well and with Jayden out he got good production from guys stepping up. Dolan continues to find his rhythm. He played 28 minutes and scored 12 points on 4-7 shooting, 1-3 from the arc, and 3-4 from the line and ZERO TOs. Quinn, whose minutes have been down played 16 minutes and was under control scoring 7 on 3-3 shooting, 1-1 from the line. Solid, efficient performance tonight. Tom got into foul trouble a little but gave us 11 solid minutes scoring 5 points on 1-2 shooting and 3-3 from the line. Dez was good scoring 20 7-15 shooting, 4-7 from the arc, and 2-3 from the line. Braden also had an excellent night playing 39 minutes, scorings points on 4-7 shooting, 3-6 from the arc and 5-5 from the line. He was more aggressive looking for his shot tonight. Edwards gave us some good minutes at times and hit a big 3 late in first during surge that put us ahead. His defense was renewed tonight. Nice job considering he hasn’t been playing much. Overall, we finally had a good shooting game at home. Drew got a technical in the first half and it was timed perfectly. After the T, we started getting a few calls. It was good to see Drew pop off a bit. We have been getting a lot of fouls called on us and part of that, in my opinion is he’s too nice a guy. Sometimes the refs need to know they will catch grief if they are not calling both ways. Overall stats: FG 47.3% (26-55); 3PT 39.1% (9-23); FT 84.2% (16-19)-Breakfast Club Baby! We also had 19 assists on our 26 made baskets.

4. Special Mention: The Pack. Until tonight I thought since the Pope graduated they were a little off. Tonight the stands were packed and were loud and into it. We heard the return of the DE-FENCE chat which used to be a staple and they were doing other cheers as well. Keep it up kids and get creative! The very first possessions of the game they screaming like it was tied with 1 minute to go.

Final Ramblings: Good win. Only issues were TOs and fouls. 6-2 and in sole possession of third place. Davidson coming in is struggling record wise, but they some height and are well coached. Need to hold serve before hitting the road again. It would be great to be 7-2 heading into next week. This season has been a wild ride, but we are reestablishing our Culture and regaining a bit of the shine we had. Still have work to do, the arrow is pointing up!

Hey I know it’s a pain in the butt. I was laughing while watching the replay. It was brutal on Comcast feed, but it’s college basketball and I would rather have the crazy environment and not stifle the kids. Let them be young! Plus, you can always listen to Scott! The Comcast guys did a good job keeping their concentration and calling the game.
