Just taking a look at the top teams in NCAA Division I basketball in 2-pt Defense, according to KenPom. 1. #5 Houston 40.5% 2. #6 Tennessee 41.9% 3 #14 Illinois 42.2% 4 #1 Connecticut 42.4% 5 Loyola-Chicago 42.5% A lot of this is Miles Rubin's disruptive effect around the rim, our good schemes in help defense under the basket, and the maturity of guys like Adelekun and Welch. Now, if we could just pick up the defense on outside shooting and keep opponents off the free throw line, we're back in the top 30 defense. |
