Porter had a year where OU had a great record heading into the conference slate and then they fell off. Wait see how they in conference before making final four plans.

In their SEC opener, Porter's Sooners l
gave up 107 points and lost by 28 to Alabama. I'm not sure if anyone has looked at the SEC's standings, but the worst overall record of the 16 teams is South Carolina...at 10-4. The league is an absolute juggernaut. Top to bottom, they could be one of the best leagues ever this season.

I was talking at the game yesterday with someone who attended an SEC school. He mentioned that the SEC has the largest NIL bankroll of all conferences. It handily beats the Big Ten and far exceeds the vast majority of other leagues. His perspective is that the great majority of the best players transferred into this SEC NIL money from last season to this season. An example provided was 13-1 Vanderbilt. Pretty much the entire team is new. The coach and the transferred in NIL paid players. It was noted that Vandy hasn't been good in recent years but has, like all the SEC teams, exploded over the NCAA teams in non con play and it is because they are now better a better (bought) team.

Oklahoma now 0-3 in Conference. Lost to Georgia today. Look for them to drop out of top 25.

Just watch OU finish the SEC with a losing record and a near .500 overall record and completely miss the tourney.

Same thing they did last year - after also beginning the year 13-1 before early January.

Welcome to the SEC.

Sooners off to an 0-4 start in conference after losing by 4 to rival Texas at home on Wednesday. Porter's seat will be on fire if he misses the tourney again this year. Sooners sit at 13-4 overall. Probably only need 18 or 19 wins out of the SEC to make the tourney, but looking at their schedule, that won't be easy. Think they will only be favored in four of their remaining 14 games.

Wonder what Porter ends up doing if he is fired from OU.

Coach should go back to a Midwestern mid major if the opportunity presents itself or get into TV.

Oddly coach and staff were each given raises or extensions last July.

Even stranger, each of the assistants expire after 24-25. Hot seats ?

This is just a weird story. Their AD's quotes, the timing of these deals, their pumping of $$$$, and their confidence of being a tournament team despite the losses.

Oof - things seem to be taking a sad turn in Norman. It's hard for me to see OU fans accepting his comments from the other night well that the team was not "emotionally fighting" to stay in these games. Who cares about emotions - they want winning. Hopefully they will give him one more year to hang on and see what he can make happen, but I don't know. It just feels like his style of coaching and building teams is just not a fit for the SEC (or any big conference). All it takes is one big booster to cover the $10 million buyout and I say he's toast.
