This is my thought as well.

He would get eaten alive in one of the big conferences with his current level of play. The one pro level big man in the A10 had him at three fouls in minutes.

Saw interesting comments from Zac Eddy today complaining that he was not eligible for most NIL money as he was an international player. I wonder if this is part of our strategy this year in signing two international players ? Along these lines I read where AJ Storr the point guard from UW who is in the transfer portal asked Kansas for 1 mil...they offered 75K and he turned it down. Most be a better system to get kids fair compensation and keeping competition close to fair?

They offered $750K***

And yes, he still turned it down. It's the wild wild west out there now. College basketball will never be the same.

Good time to remind that The Ramblers NIL matching challenge ends this weekend, close to its goal of $100,000 (which then doubles to $200,000 with the matching contribution)…

When I contributed I noticed they have an option for monthly payments/contributions, which I think some of us talked about would be a good idea. $50/month doesn’t sound as bad as $600 at once :D

MY bad but what's 700,000 k among friends?? also on the NIL transfer rumor mill. Bronny James, LeBrons son is leaving USC and word has it he may end up at Duquesne where Dru Joyce the new coach at Duquesne was a teammate of Lebron. And the departing coach was their coach in high school. The A10 continues to get interesting. Feel bad for ISUb

Two things Miles will need to do to get bigger NIL.

1. He's gonna have to prove he can stay on the floor and out of foul trouble.

2. Offense needs to take a big jump. He needs to show he can score on stuff other than dunks, improve his FT shooting.

Without 1 and 2 above, his value will be greatly diminished.

Another thing to keep an eye on in this space, how long can NIL collectives continue to exist in their current form?

Matt Brown is super plugged into many facets of the college athletics industrial complex (NIL, conference realignment, etc). Worth a follow or subscription to his newsletter, Extra Points

The IRS getting involved and not allowing Collectives from being classified as not for profits will do what taxes always do. It will raise the cost of NIL dollars that need to be raised. This won't hurt mega programs as much as Mid-Major programs. Kinda like how tax increases devastate small business more than big corporations.

This guy Kessler sounds very self assured. And in an odd way, like he has never had so much fun before in his life.
