Four days from now in Brooklyn, it's A-10 men's basketball media day. They announce the pre-season poll, pre-season all conference teams, and coaches sit for interviews.

The turnover in the league has been crazy... there are two new coaches, at George Washington and VCU... and many of the most familiar names are graduated, in the pros, or elsewhere. It's still real early, and no one has played an exhibition yet, let alone had a chance to learn all that much in practice. Nevertheless, here's my top 5 for this year:

1. Dayton
2. Duquesne
3. St. Joe's
4. St. Bonaventure
5. VCU

I don't even have a guess as to the all-conference teams, other than DaRon Holmes II will be definitely be preseason POTY.

I could see Loyola coming in 6th, or a spot or two higher if things all go right. Our league schedule is maybe easier on balance this year, and I think we'll be certainly better than Rhode Island, LaSalle, UMass, and GW. *fingers crossed*

Looks like we've got a lot to prove this year after last year's face-plant.....

Considering our abysmal dead-last finish last season, I think 8th is more than fair. Even 8th is somewhat generous. It's definitely a "prove it" season.
