snowed in so watched some games today. 1. Fordham vs George Washington. The Fordham gym was almost a replica of the old ALumni Gym. Both teams again reminded me that we are overmatched roster wise. specifically in over all length and height at the guard position. Fordham has a starting 6'7 guard . They also had a couple of lengthy freshman. Thought they played well together. The Fordham win over GW gives St.Louis and VCU a two game lead on the conference about half way through. 2. Porter Moser and his Sooners got a signature win over #2 Alabama. OK is under .500 in the Big12. PM is sporting a full beard...Still non-stop on the sidelines...and clapping and yelling like he is at a Taylor Swift concert. 3. Illinois-Wisconsin 20-16 at the half. Something about that Illinois team that does not inspire confidence even though they have a lot of talent. 4. Looks like Northwestern is putting themselves in position to be Chicago's team in the dance. They also sold out their 1200 student section in 10 minutes for the game today. Always fun to see how the game changes. Almost everyone plays an offense like Loyola( Zoom Action) with guards curling to the hoop with the ball and posts setting screens and diving to the basket. Our problem is when our guards get to the hoop they are often in trouble. |
