Things we need to change to right the ship: 1) Recommit to the Culture Wall and the Loyola Way. 2) Defend without Fouling. 3) No Turnovers. We have generally shot 2s pretty good. Cut out turnovers and our offense will ⬆️ 4) "Play Quick, Don't Hurry" 5) Let the game come to you 6) Stop passing up open shots trying to get better shots. It's leading to TOs late in clock & forced shots. 7) Run more body movement through lane & baseline, more dives to basket from off ball. Make defense chase players side to side with their defenders having to chase us. 8) Run more backdoor cuts to relieve pressure 9) Bring back the high post offense with cutting off of big. Welch can handle it. 10) Start offense closet to arc. It shortens passing lanes and creates better passing angles. 11) Pack defense closer to the basket. This should allow for more help and easier shorter rotations 12) NEVER, NEVER should Drew sit on the bench with 10 minutes to go. It sends the wrong message and those are still great coaching moments for a young team. We have learned some things. These include Alston being a player, Scweiger is going to be a player, and Dawson deserves some minutes. And yes, Drew can thank me at the next home game! What are your thoughts. |
