The ball we use is a Nike ball and its an inferior product. We use that ball as Nike services our shoes and uniforms and includes the ball in the package. The ball from the NCAA tournament is a Wilson NXT Evolution, which is the rolls royce of college balls. it is demonstrably different from what we play with in Gentile. I believe there is something to be said for the shooting woes in the tournament due to using a different ball (and why Loyola CHICAGO should play with a Wilson ball all year around, aside from it being a century old CHICAGO brand). Kansas is a Wilson school and clearly had no issues with it come tournament time. But all that is to say that the shooting on Sunday was unrelated, at least in terms of the ball, to the shooting issues against Ohio State. |
