Doug Bruno Day. June 11 has been declared Doug Bruno Day in Chicago by the City Council to coincide with his induction into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. Great recognition for a great guy with so many ties to Loyola as well as DePaul.

A genuine good guy...who probably should have been our men's coach at one point in time back in the day. Last time I saw Doug...asked him how long he was gonna coach and his reply was " they will have to carry me off the court"

A well deserved honor. In my mind the best college basketball coach of either gender. Consistent winning teams, great recruiter and teacher. He should have been our coach for the 35 years.
