Some interesting tidbits from the NIT that are LU related. I love some of the match ups the NIT get....
1. UNI defeated A-10 team St. Louis
2. Coach Moser got to play Missouri State and handled them easily
3. The A-10 went 3-1 in the first round with the Bonnies, VCU and Dayton getting victories and St. Louis gets the L
4. Vanderbuilt took down MVC Belmont
5. Did Drake not get an invite? or turn it down?

Drake is in the CBI tourney and beat Purdue Ft Wayne yesterday. CBI has changed format and now is held in same city.

Watched the Bonnie’s knock off Porter’s Sooners last night. In Norman and Bonnie’s fans were well represented per broadcasters.
My observation is we need to get bigger and tougher physically.
Hard drives with made buckets and fouls leading to free throws….
How’re we going to get there?

I've been thinking about this, too. We have a few guys in the 6'6 and up category though. Damezi Anderson, who is a mystery to me. Saint Thomas and Ben Schwieger both have seven more months to get stronger.

As for the guards we have, obviously Braden is rock solid. TY showed really remarkable speed and quickness. I'd like to see Kennedy get more consistent with the type of scoring you're talking about.

But another thing that really struck me this year is how rare it felt for our players to use the rim and take reverse layups. Our teams of the recent past were very effective in that. This year we had tons of shots blocked and we took a lot of what I felt were hopeless attempts -- avoiding contact, moving away from the basket. A guy like Marques Townes was great at getting all the way to the rim and scoring on either side.

Marques has come up several times lately. An underappreciated part of our success perhaps which is striking given that he has a larry bird trophy.
