Think we can finally put the preseason "Our second 5 could beat most Valley teams!" talk to bed.

Once again, completely outcoached at the whistle (preparation etc). Let’s see if the staff can make some good in game adjustments like the last 2; otherwise…

These poor offensive starts are really baffling, especially when you consider how prolific our offense was before the covid break & break. For some reason the team doesn't quite look the same.

I feel like the close Bradley game affected our confidence. We're a little slower and a bit more tentative. Meanwhile, other teams are giving us their best shot and they're seemingly playing us with more confidence, knowing that we're beatable.

We're still a good team. Our defense is still elite. We just gotta get out of this offensive rut we're in right now.

The Final 4 squad went through a similar phase before figuring it out and going on a big run. If you look back on that season, we lost back to back games at Milwaukee and Missouri State. We squeaked by a mediocre Evansville team, and then lost to Indiana State by 2. Many of our Valley games that season were close, but we went on a 10 game winning streak and won out in St. Louis.

Knight starting the 2nd half over Hutty.

The vaunted, energetic, higher-tempo offense has looked tentative at the start of the past two games, and Loyola has looked a bit stunned by a higher level of physicality in MVC play. Where the Ramblers have looked best over the past two games-- when they came back from double-digit deficits in the middle of the last two second halves-- is when they turned up the defense, and used turnovers and momentum to power their offense.

You pretty much preemptively summarized the first half of this game. Our defense showed up and closed the gap after being down by as much as 15 with only 6 minutes remaining.

I think we should stick with Knight over Hutty moving forward. I like Hutson, but he's been a liability the past few games. The team facilitates the offense so much better with Knight, and despite being undersized at Center, he's been playing great defense.

Lucas just got hacked going to the rim and it doesn't get called. They're playing super physical on him.

Our defense is looking pretty good, but good god...we need to stop with these terrible turnovers.

Knight and Welch have outplayed Hutty recently, they both need more minutes, that’s clear.

They are getting away with a lot of physicality on offense.

Tough to criticize Lucas with how good he's been tonight and recently. But he just has to be better from the FT line.
