We know for sure the 2018 team would've been out if they lost the title game because they were ranked lower than the last 4 in at large teams on the seed list. If anyone wants a good laugh, look at all the teams the selection committee thought were better in 2018.

The following season, they began using the NET rankings, which has an efficiency/performance component to it similar to KenPom. On selection Sunday, we had a KenPom of 41 (it was 45 before the AM Final). There were a lot of teams picked for at large bids ranked well below the 45 mark that year.... I think a KenPom of 45 and a win at Florida probably gets you in under the NET rankings, because the net tracks closer to KenPom than RPI. But knowing how the NCAA regresses to the mean, there's no way to be sure.
