My only thoughts on this are 1. that the Tribune thinks the mascot is worthy of coverage, but not the actual sporting events, and 2. that they don't make clear what the controversy is until halfway through the article.

Bring back the Uhlan mascot that sounds bitchin.

The Tribune says they're Germanic but the Uhlan were actually Polish. Typical anti-Polish bias!
