OMG !!!! The ETRIB actually published an article about our great win last evening !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed that,,,,it was an AP blurb...still not sending a staff writer...I miss seeing Bill Jaus at the games.....So I guess they rationalize this by saying U of I has more alums in the area.....but if you add all the alums from SIU, ISU, Bradley and LU you would think they would give more attention to the Valley.......and of course we were sandwiched between two articles on NU basketball

They don't have anyone to send. In his tribute to the departing Mark Gonzales, Paul Sullivan noted yesterday that when he moved over to sports in 1987, the Preps Plus staff was bigger than the entire sports staff now. The newspaper business is dying obviously, but the vulture capital outfit that took over the Tribune doesn't even pretend to care about journalism. I'm one Eric Zorn away from moving my subscription to the Sun-Times.

Yeah, it's not that they hate Loyola/Bradley/ISU/SIU/UIC. It's that they legitimately don't have anyone to send. Their subscriptions and revenue are declining every year.
