This opportunity screams MVC; hopefully Loyola's Jesuit powers that be can push Elgin to put something together given the WCC has a few fellow Jesuit institutions as well. I guess the downside is you basically hand a loss to your top team next year matching them up against Gonzaga. The rest of the both conferences match up pretty well.

I would love it. Never realized how many jesuit schools there were in the WCC.

The WCC is almost as Catholic as the Big East, much to my surprise as well. The non-Catholic schools, BYU, Pepperdine and Pacific are also church-affiliated, if not technically denominational.

This would be a great idea, but I have my doubts it would happen. Gonzaga calls the shots in the WCC and I don't see them having much interest. In fact, I think that's why there isn't a WCC challenge already.

They play road games almost exclusively against Power 6 teams. The only non-conference road game they played against a mid major in the last decade was San Diego St in 2018. That being said, I'd be fine giving Gonzaga a home game every year if that was the price of an MVC-WCC challenge.
