Redbirds came in the lowest Kenpom rated MVC team, by far. UNI came in the highest rated, by far.

Conference road wins should never be assumed.

Crazy. Just goes to show how tough it is to win conference games on the road.

Which makes our road conference winning record over the last 2 years really crazy.

UNI had a 10-point lead at halftime. ISUr scored 56 points (!) in the second half, and shot 10 for 18 on threes.

Crazy.

I watched the game. Neither team was impressive on defense, they both loved to chuck the 3, and UNI missed a lot of free throws down the stretch.
I think our defense will frustrate UNI and as long as they don’t go off from 3 I like that matchup.
Illinois State looked like the same old Illinois State for whatever that is worth.

I think that's basically what they did against Belmont, too.

could be a crazy year in the Valley. I watched some of the Indiana St-SIU game....Was pretty impressed with how fundamentally well Indiana St played....and how much SIUs offense looked just like ours....made me think that Porter ball has had some effect across the MVC

I’ve been saying for a bit this season that the key to beating UNI isn't stopping AJ Green, but stopping Trae Berhow. In all their loses/close games he’s struggled. ISU held him to 6 points on 1-9 shooting and 1-6 from 3... he’s been around 50% from 3 most of the season.

Green is a talent but has a tendency to do too much, force bad shots, and turn it over at a high rate (5 today). I’ll be curious to see how they respond after this, I haven’t been sold on them despite some really nice wins in non con

After watching this one, I see no reason why we can't win three in a row. Hadn't seen much of UNI before today...only saw their results and was intimidated. Nothing intimidating about their performance today.
