Bob Parkinson, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Loyola University, died yesterday. He served in this position since 2013. I believe that Bob was an enormous influence in the revival of Ramblers basketball and hope that the legacy of his contribution will carry Loyola University and Ramblers basketball to continuing success.

I noticed the Loyola press release yesterday. (https://www.luc.edu/president/homenews/ ... ment.shtml )

It is quite a shock. I saw him at a game recently and he looked hale and hearty. He was only 68, and graduated the same year I did.
I wonder what the "brief illness" mentioned in the presser was.

Interesting that the Athletic Department issued its own press release as well:

Very sad. Saw him at a game recently with his daughter, Becky. He was a good man and a great supporter of the basketball program. We will be blessed if the next board chair is as engaged with athletics as Mr. Parkinson.

A total class act. Loyola will miss him.
