I know a lot has been said about the ticket prices, but I never really paid much attention.

For comparison's sake, tickets to tonight's game against Rockhurst, yes Rockhurst are below.

Ticket Prices
Adults: Gold - $27; Maroon - $24; White - $15

Saturday I am going to see #13 Michigan State football play at Northwestern, which is in a down season, but was ranked in the pre-season. Those tickets are below.

Billing info
Price per ticket: $17.00
Quantity: x 2
Subtotal: $34.00
Service fee:+ $5.00
Delivery services: + $11.95
Order total: $50.95

Two tickets to see the #13 team in the country overnighted to my office cost less than all but the cheapest available for LU v. Rockhurst?

And these are the "affordable" tickets. Just wait until WSU comes in...

Shockingly (pardon the pun), the tickets for WSU aren't that much more.

Adults: Gold - $30; Maroon - $27; White - $20

I wonder if that will change as the season moves along...

Here goes Brot, stating the obvious----I believe our Admin--Athletic Dept ?--Moved too fast on these prices--We have yet to earn a condition where these exorbitant ticket costs are warranted---Just a move up to the MVC does not get it. Less expensive pricing will get more folks to the games--especially as we have earned NOTHING remotely to warrant these.

I have made my usual donation--but I admit is is far from enough, but I feel it IS enough to allow a critique--

Cut these prices--get more fans to come--MAKE more profit--Do the Math ADMIN.

I don't think they adjusted the prices solely based only on guesswork. I imagine there was a significant study of comparable programs. From the prices I listed ($22 bucks at Northwestern and $18 for UIC-- each playing one of the lower attractions on their schedules), it seems to me we're priced right.

Wanna go see Captian Phillips at the AMC River East tonight at 7:00 p.m.? It's $12 for an adult, $9.25 for a child, and $7 for a senior. Interested in Improv? Second City's current revue will run you $23 per seat for a Tuesday performance, plus a $7.50 service fee, or $30.50.

If I'm worried about attendance, I'd be more concerned about how much we're putting into promotion and advertising more than cost being the primary barrier.

I am guessing your NU tickets are secondary market tickets which have gone down as NUs season has gone. They are probably crappy seats as well. Mine from the ticket office at the start of the season were 45 on the 20. Howver I agree with your point tickets are way too high. Lets fill the place. I would get a hold of every possible LU group and offer them free tickets for at least one game. Let them have their meetings at the new student center or someplace there. I mean the gap between old farts like me and the students is huge. They have to try and reclaim at least 30 years of non-attention.
GO RAMBLERS

Brot...hope you plan on getting to a game this year. I feel like the youngest of the ALums. There is this huge gap of alums from the 80,90, and 2000s. I am not sure that they can get them in as I do not know if they were ever involved. All those years with no attention paid to the program is going to be hard to overcome. It was good to see a very active student section last night. They were having fun.I think that is a step in the right direction.
