saw a tweet where he was meeting with the staff at Dominican University in RIver Forest. Also Valpo has a guy Conner Barret who played with Jake Moser last year at Loyola Academy....I think they had a decent team last year....maybe Regional winner.s

Does this mean that Knight and Schwieger can go back to their Ivy League teams next year? If so, I wonder if they would consider doing so and how it would impact recruiting through the rest of the year.

Wow, that could really screw up our recruiting if Knight and Schwieger decide to take advantage of the waiver.

I did notice that Drew Valentine recently followed at least one 2021 recruit on Twitter, so maybe Loyola got wind of this earlier.

Following a 2021 recruit could mean a lot of different things. It could be that one of the transfers decides to stay at their school. Maybe the kid is thinking about doing a year at prep school and reclassifying to 2022. It might also be insurance against any number of other things happening like: someone currently on the roster transfers out, one of the 2021 guys has a last minute change of heart and doesn't enroll, someone takes a medical waiver, or the recruit is open to a 5 for 4 like Hutson. I know this coaching staff is smart enough to have a backup plan for any of these possibilities.

There's also transfers every year, no matter what. Gotta keep tabs on everyone so you're not caught unprepared down the line.

Ben Schwieger held John Poulakidas scoreless the other night. I think he'll fit in fine here.

That's pretty crazy, specifically considering Poulakidas dropped 49 points in a game last year.

I just rewatched the defense portion of Schwieger's junior year highlight tape (starts at 6:42) and he has such phenomenal timing when he goes for a block. Sure his volleyball background helps in that regard. Seems like he might already understand a key to getting minutes early in your career with Porter is playing good defense.

There was another thing on the Warriors’ minds. Neuqua Valley senior John Poulakidas entered the game only five points away from breaking the school scoring record. It seemed a given that the Yale recruit would break the mark Friday.

It didn’t happen. Poulakidas was held scoreless.

“No matter who it is, if they have a scoring record that they are beating or not, I am always trying to hold my guy to the lowest points possible,” Schwieger said. “He’s a great player, and he’s going to get it soon, so it’s not a big deal.”

Ben reminds me of Matt Chastain in his ability to block shots. I hope he's sturdier than Matt.
To me it looks like going for the block as they do puts them in a vulnerable position injury-wise. They often land awkwardly on one foot. It is a thing of beauty to watch but I often cringe on the landing.

Loyola has contacted AJ Bramah. He's a transfer portal 6'7" guard/SF from Robert Morris getting huge attention. Don't know if we would have room for him, but we are in the mix with the big boys for him.

He's averaging 20 pts and 10 rebounds.

Maybe one of the other grad transfers is reconsidering with the Ivy League granting a 5th year to its players.
