To the old timers out there ... who would you pick in one game ... Sweet 16 1985 Ramblers or Final Four 2018 Ramblers?

By old timers you must mean me. If the game was played under today's rules, with the three point shot, I would pick the 1985 team. In fact, I believe they would have beaten Georgetown, if the three pointer existed at the time.

You're assuming the 1985 team would have been better because of their ability to shoot better from 3, despite the fact that there are no stats or ways to quantify/evaluate their potential 3point shooting abilities?

As a season ticket holder then, as now, I saw most, if not all of their home games in person. Hughes, Battle, and Golston shot and scored from three point distance with regularity. Moore and Williams were also capable shooters, but did not shoot that much. The 1984/85 Ramblers were fourth in the nation in points per game at 83.5, a lot of which came from what is now three point range. Also, Andre Battle was one of the best long range shooters I have ever seen.

I am probably the OLDEST TIMER of us all----63-- 85 and 18 !!! ALL three were the best or almost of their time--I must vote for 18 as this team accomplished far more than was expected !! memorable games which I witnessed
--63-- semis in Louisville whgere we demolished DUKE
--85--Finals of MCC tourney in TULSA where BIG AL lrd us to championship over ORU
--18--That game at KENT two yerars back --I do believe that win started it all !!!

AGAIN I choose the 2018 LUC RAMBLERS !!!

Very different time in 85. In today's game, the best players leave after one year, in 85 you stayed for three.

The 85 team had three draft picks playing. maybe the 18 team could have worn them down but I doubt it.
