Of the first 16 games in the NIT, the higher seed (and home team) won only 7 of the games. And 3 of those 7 were a 4-seed that beat a 5 seed.
- Every 6 seed beat every 3 seed.
- Three of the four 2 seeds were out in the first round.
- Cal-Bakersfield upset #1 seed Cal in Berkeley.

If ISU beats Central Florida and Illinois holds serve against Boise State, it will be U of I at Redbird Arena for a chance to go to NYC for the NIT Final Four. That will be quite a game for ISU, if they can get there.
